Robert B. Glenn papers 1971 - 1985

This collection includes records that document controversial episodes in Robert Glenn's relationship with the faculty while he served as the Dean of Arts and Sciences and Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs. The collection begins with dated materials from 1971 and is composed of correspondence, memorandums, copies of letters written to the history department, the pamphlet containing an address given by Glenn at the 1978 Northern Michigan University Honors Banquet, and an outline of a financial proposal for NMU. In particular, the records document the administration's decision to declare financial exigency in 1982. The declaration triggered the process for faculty layoff described in Section Seven of the NMU-AAUP Master Agreement. The documents cover the period from 1971-1985.
